Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. Learn about the programs we offer at Eaglebrook, from athletics to arts.
At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The JV squash team piled into the mini bus in the early morning hours on Saturday, February 25 for their last match of the season against Squash Busters. The match was a great way to end the season, as the entire team was able to play. This was the second time the Brookies had the opportunity to play Squash Busters; they previously hosted them at home during Winter Carnival. The match was held at the Brooks School, which had beautiful facilities, with all 8 courts together allowing for a lot of cheering and peer coaching. Overall, it was a great day on the courts. The Brookies, led by Captain and Sixth Former Tyler Unruh, played beautifully, showing off their strong technique and court movement that they have been honing all season long. Many of the 22 matches played went beyond three games, with close scores such as 12 – 10 and 10 – 8 showing the great match up with the Squash Busters team. During the matches, the boys who were not playing had the opportunity to work with their Squash Busters opponents to improve their scoring and practice referring. After the matches were over, the Eaglebrook team and the Squash Busters continue to play together, breaking into mixed team King of the Court and exhibition games. It was a wonderful way to end the season. The team would like to thank Squash Busters and the Brooks School for hosting them for their final match. It has been a great season full of hard work and fun and we look forward to celebrating all of our success at the Athletic Banquet on Wednesday, March 1.
