Why would you send a sixth-grade boy to boarding school? Shouldn't a ninth-grade student start high school? What is a junior boarding school? Make an appointment to visit us today and learn why Eaglebrook, a boarding and day school for boys in middle school, might be the right place for your son.
Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The JV hockey team was supposed to play the Keene HN Bantams on Tuesday night, but unfortunately they had to cancel due to an outbreak of the flu. Luckily our friends from across the highway were available on short notice and the DA 3rds team jumped at the opportunity to play us again. The Eagles were looking to avenge their 5-7 loss from last Friday and they went into the games motivated and focused. Despite this, the big green jumped out to a quick 0-3 lead, but the Eaglebrook boys showed resolve and battled back to tie up the game. Deerfield quickly jumped back out to a 3 goal lead and Coach Williams and Bourdon worried that the team would cave, but once again the Eagles dug deep and stormed back making it a 5-6 game. Eaglebrook pulled goalie Henry Cour (who made several huge saves to keep us in the game) and called a time out to strategize how to tie the game up, and was able to pressure the DA goalie (Eaglebrook alum, Alex Leong), but not find the back of the net. Individual high lights from the game were Mason Clarke scoring his first goal of the season and Jack Bradway scoring 2 goals in his first game playing offense. Simba Chen and Ryan Robbins also contributed goals and Walker Craig stepped up in the absence of Ben King. The Eagles are back in action on Friday afternoon at 4pm against Rumsey Hall.
