Why would you send a sixth-grade boy to boarding school? Shouldn't a ninth-grade student start high school? What is a junior boarding school? Make an appointment to visit us today and learn why Eaglebrook, a boarding and day school for boys in middle school, might be the right place for your son.
Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. Learn about the programs we offer at Eaglebrook, from athletics to arts.
At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The Varsity soccer team closed the season with an exciting 1-1 tie against Northfield Mount Hermon. EBS opened the scoring in the 35th minute when Alan Fang finished a feed from Tynan Creagh. The goal was Alan's 11th of the season, making him the team's leading scorer. In the second half many of the EBS boys played positions they hadn't been able to play earlier in the season. NMH took advantage of some of the confusion and tied the game, but the EBS players really enjoyed the opportunity to have some fun in a different position. It was quite dark by game's end because of the time change this past weekend, and when the final whistle blew both teams were all smiles. As always, NMH were great hosts and showed great sportsmanship.
A special thanks to this year's Sixth Formers. The team played a particularly difficult schedule and found a great deal of success, largely because of the efforts of the Sixth Formers. Alonso Fernandez, Keith Davenport, Alex Lorenzo, Pat Rungsrithong, Juan Carlos Alverde, Karsten Nyarady, Jay Douglas, Peter Villani and Juan Carlos Garza will graduate having joined a short list of players that have completed two years on the Varsity soccer season. While Gil Salzman, Jack Palfrey, Ty Burapachaisri, Seth Blain, Pun Amornvivat and Eduardo Fernandez should be proud of their contributions as one year Varsity players. The coaches also know they will have a strong core around which next year's team will be built because Fifth Formers Alan Fang, Tynan Creagh and Jordan Nelson will all return.
Thanks also go to Alex Edwards, Luke Williams, Emily Johnson, John DiPace for organizing a fantastic season, as well as to Tory Buck, Noah Harrison, and the maintenance staff for keeping the facilities and gear in top shape all season.
