Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. Learn about the programs we offer at Eaglebrook, from athletics to arts.
At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The Varsity soccer season did not begin as hoped as EBS slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Williston Northampton. EBS began the game brightly and dominated possession for the opening 20 minutes but was unable to capitalize after creating a couple dangerous chances. Williston grew into the game as time went by, exposing a lack of sharpness and fitness from EBS. The hosts scored a well taken goal with just over 15 minutes left in the game, which proved to be the decisive strike. EBS picked up the pressure in the final stages of the game and created several more scoring opportunities, but lacked the finishing quality to tie the game.
Goalkeeper Alex Lorenzo was probably the strongest EBS performer, making several saves and controlling his box. Congratulations also go to Alan Fang, Jack Palfrey, Seth Blain, Ty Burapachaisri, Tynan Creagh, Eduardo Fernandez, and Pun Amornvivat for making their Varsity debuts. A special thanks goes to our second goalkeeper, Gil Salzman, who dressed and played as a midfielder because injuries had significantly shortened the EBS bench.
The team must move on from their disappointment quickly and shift their focus to a busy weekend. Away games on consecutive days against junior boarding school rivals, Fay and Cardigan Mountain, will make for an exciting and fun weekend.
