Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
We had a thriller in the Alfond Dome on Saturday. This was a wild, back and forth game with high intensity and lots of scoring. We began the first period full of energy and enthusiasm from Winter Carnival earlier in the day. Holy Name struck first with an opening goal, but we soon responded in the very next shift to tie the game at one. The scoring was only beginning though as we exchange goal after goal until the horn sounded to end the first period as the score was 5 to 4 with Holy Name in the lead. In the second period, we settled down into a good defensive mode, but still exchanged goals with our opponent. Our power play was really clicking in the second period and into the third. We were able to draw within one goal and pulled our goalie with less than a minute to gain another skater. We had several opportunities in the closing minute, but could not tie the score. This was a great game and demonstrated the immense progress our team has made in skill, but more importantly, in team work.
