The Eagles headed down I-91 to the Mass Mutual Center on Tuesday, January 19 to take on the Wizards for the second meeting this season. The Eagles jumped on the Wizards right away, showcasing great presence in the offensive end. Kennedy O’Connor took it upon himself to get the Eagles on the board early with a nicely placed shot that rang off the right post and in. Dylan Weichselbaumer added the first of his three, as Keith Davenport distributed a textbook drop pass. Weichselbaumer added his second tally, and Davenport and Carson Moe were credited with the assists. The score stood at 3-0 in favor of Eaglebrook after the first period. However, in the second period, the Wizards would not go away quietly as they capitalized on odd man rushes and traffic in front, eventually tying the game up into the third period. The Eagles would show great resiliency, as Alan Kim streaked down the right wing and delivered a nice pass to Drew Parsons in the slot for a quick one-touch goal. Weichselbaumer completed the hat trick late in the third to give the Eagles more breathing room down the stretch, as the boys were able to close out a 5-3 victory. Connor Cherry provided the Eagles with another great performance, turning away second chance opportunities. His aggressive play and ability to recover post-to-post closed the door on many rebound opportunities. Austin Propper and Owen Oulundsen both had solid games on defense, joining the rush and contributing to the Eagles attack. On Thursday, the Eagles will welcome some familiar faces as they host Deerfield Academy.
