Eaglebrook Thirds Soccer defeated Pine Cobble School 2-1 in Williamstown, MA, on Friday afternoon. Although Thirds dominated possession throughout the game, they found the back of the net frustratingly elusive due to the slick, rainy conditions, and just plain bad luck. This did however make for an exciting afternoon. After going down 1-0 early in the game, Thirds leading scorer, Alejandro Ballesteros, opened the scoring for Eaglebrook after beating a number of defenders on his own outside of the 18. The game stayed knotted at 1-1 for the majority of the rest of the game, until Ian Lee scored on a corner kick that deflected off of the Pine Cobble keepers hands with merely a few minutes remaining. All in all, it was a thrilling match. Thirds next plays at home on Wednesday afternoon.
