Thirds Basketball fell short to the Williston Northampton School on in a 46-33 decision on Wednesday afternoon, dropping the Brookies' season mark to a dismal 1-8.
Unlike several of their previous losses, the Eagles kicked off the game with an unusual 9-0 thanks to a tenacious defense that made the home hosts cough the ball up several times. But the auspicious start did not translate to a win for Eaglebrook as Williston chipped away at the deficit by returning the favor to eventually tie the game 17-17 at the half.
That was the extent that Eaglebrook was in the game as they played catch-up ball the rest of the way en route to a tough defeat.
Next up for the Brookies will be the Kingswood-Oxford School in a highly anticipated home match this Saturday afternoon at 1 pm.
