Eaglebrook School has a faculty of 74 men and women, many of whom have children of their own. Classes average between eight to twelve students and teachers help each boy establish sound study habits and set standards for quality work.
The faculty at Eaglebrook School have made a choice to make junior boarding school education their primary focus. Eaglebrook School's teachers have the skills to challenge the able and to make learning interesting for those middle school aged boys who need close supervision. They appreciate a boy for who he is and where he is in his development.

    Cara Chandler, Director of Health Services, brings multifaceted experience from the healthcare field. As a nurse educator, she imparts her knowledge and experience to the next generation of healthcare professionals, helping to shape their futures. Her leadership skills shine through as she guides her team towards excellence, fostering collaboration and unity. One of Cara's notable accomplishments was her involvement in securing a health care accreditation, where she played a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of nursing education and practice. Cara's lives in Ashfield with her husband and son, and their two dogs.

    Wayne began working at Eaglebrook in 2019 as the Medical Director. Wayne lives nearby in South Deerfield with his wife, Mary, and three children, Kathryn, Julia and Michael '23. Away from Eaglebrook, you can find Wayne cooking, reading, walking, playing tennis, and traveling.

    Ms. Brown graduated from UMass College of nursing in 2015 and worked as an Emergency Room nurse for 6 years before joining the team at Eaglebrook Health Center. She enjoys the outdoors; hiking with my family and 2 rescue dogs. She also has two horses which she trail rides and casually competes with. Her favorite thing about being a nurse is sharing knowledge with the students so they become active participants in their health and treatment.

    Mrs. Cross graduated from Umass, Amherst school of nursing in 2002. Since then, she has been working in the Emergency Department at Baystate Franklin Medical Center. In 2021, Mrs. Cross started doing Covid testing at Eaglebrook school. Immediately she was drawn to the positive vibes of the school and community. Shortly after she joined the Health Center team.

    Biography
     
    Heather Gagnon, LICSW, LADC, has a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Vermont. Heather is licensed in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts where she has worked and trained counselors. Heather has extensive experience in training, counseling, and program coordination and development. Heather utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, and person-centered therapy and incorporates mindfulness techniques in her therapy modalities. Heather is also a trained EMDR therapist. 

    Heather has enjoyed joining the Eaglebrook community as a counselor and a community member. Heather is passionate about cooking, being outside and yoga. Heather is a certified yoga instructor and has taught classes in the local community and with faculty and students. In her free time, you will likely see her with her daughter Ellie, dog Burton and husband Wiley enjoying the outdoor space that Eaglebrook has surrounding it.

    Amanda goes by Mindy. She is currently a nurse in the health center. Mindy has been a nurse for 19 years and this will be her 7th year at Eaglebrook. She is in charge of overseeing students who receive allergy serum. Mindy lives in Greenfield with her husband Derek, and four children, Lauren, Juliana, Alexander, and Aubrey. They have 2 cats, 3 dogs, 2 guinea pigs, 1 turtle, 1 fish and 15 chickens. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping in Maine, and gardening.

    Amy Zaranek enthusiastically joined the Eaglebrook community in 2018 as a School Counselor. She is a practicing School Adjustment Counselor, licensed in the state of Massachusetts, who is currently pursuing her doctorate as a school psychologist. She is an ARC certified trauma-informed educator, as well as a certified Mindfulness Educator. She is dedicated to supporting students and staff alike in finding the tools they need for growth in social-emotional learning. She hopes to help students develop the lifelong skills to manage stress in order to lead happy, healthy, and productive lives, and to meet the rigorous demands placed on our youth of today with inner strength and resilience. She is an avid lover of nature and the great outdoors. She enjoys hiking, nature photography, and horseback riding. She is an animal lover of all sorts and owns a certified therapy dog that is often counseling students along with her.
