The Outdoor Program
What is the Outdoor Program at Eaglebrook?
Each weekend in the fall and spring, Eaglebrook School boys are given numerous opportunities to enjoy the New England outdoors through a carefully designed Outdoor Program schedule of weekend events. It is part of the school's mission to teach middle-school aged boys to respect the outdoors. Faculty share their own particular outdoor interests by sponsoring both day and overnight trips. Some of the offered activities include: camping, canoeing, fly fishing, rock-climbing, hiking, biking, maple sugaring, white water rafting, trap, skeet, & target shooting, all near our Deerfield, Massachusetts campus.
Participating in Eaglebrook Outdoor Program actvities is one way for students to practice the skills of healthy living as outlined in the Eaglebrook School Core Skills.
Eaglebrook School maintains numerous campsites and the boys create their own on our 750+ acre campus. In groups of three or more, with food provided by the kitchen, and under the close faculty supervision, boys can participate in overnight camping and out-of-doors activities on the weekend. Whipple Pond, in the center of the campus, is stocked annually with both bass and trout for fishing enjoyment.
