A Memorable Country Fair Weekend

In what was the first Country Fair Weekend with parents in attendance since 2019, the campus was awash with smiles and hugs for a weekend of special events, classes, and athletic contests. Country Fair began following a delicious meal in the dining hall on Wednesday, October 13, when advisee groups spent the evening preparing their posters to advertise their concession stands. Some fun photos from prep night can be found here

Students eagerly awaited the arrival of their parents on Friday, October 15. Parents filled the assembly area to watch Philip M.’ 21, president of the Student Council, give his assembly. They then attended all seven class periods with their children. Photos from the Country Fair class day can be found here. Later in the afternoon, it was time for Eaglebrook’s 79th Country Fair on Memorial Field - a new location and a new time for the cherished event. It was a warm and humid afternoon but the skies were clear which allowed for students to actively participate in the wide variety of concession stands. It was wonderful to see so many families, friends, and alumni enjoying one of our most loved traditions. Find photos from Eaglebrook’s 79th Country Fair here

Once the fair concluded, parents of Sixth Formers and their boys headed to the Assembly Area for an engaging Secondary School Advising panel with admissions officers from Deerfield Academy, Westminster School, and Millbrook School. The admissions officers gave students and parents some great advice as they prepare to embark on secondary school visits this week.

Parents arrived back on campus on Saturday, October 16, for a day of music performances and athletic contests. The day began with a Parents’ Association Meeting & Parents' Committee Symposia in the Assembly Area. The String Orchestra, Jazz Band, and Chorus performed followed by remarks by new parent trustees Andrea van Bueran P22 and Jon ’84 & Julie Murchinson P22, and Head of School Andrew Chase. The presentation was highlighted by a wonderful group of Sixth Form speakers who discussed their own “Creativity on Campus” – the theme for the morning and the following Symposia.  Find photos from the Country Fair Concert here

On Saturday afternoon, the fields came alive with many teams competing. The afternoon was highlighted by Varsity football’s only home game of the season. The team won in a decisive fashion with many families, friends, and alumni cheering from the sidelines. Find photos from Country Fair Sports Day here

Country Fair is a wonderful tradition that brings students, families, and faculty together for a weekend of fun. Thank you for visiting, and we hope to see you soon!
