Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The Eaglebrook Cross Country team traveled to Cardigan on Saturday for a great day on the trails. The course consisted of a scenic grassy loop where fall colors were on full display. Junior varsity runners ran one loop, roughly 2.5k race, while the Varsity runners completed two loops, a 5k. After warming up and noting some important landmarks on the course, the team was ready to go. A very steep uphill start was no challenge for the Eagles, who have been training hard on the hills at Eaglebrook. The top Cardigan runners also went out fast, and it was clear from the beginning that it was going to be a close race. Shortly after the top varsity runners completed the first loop and headed back out on the trail for the second, the JV runners started to finish. Tomas T. '24 won the JV race in 11:56, with Jayden L. '23 right on his heels finishing in second in 12:09. David D. '23 ( 4th in 12:35), Sam Wang ( 5th in 13:23), and Sihan M. '22 (8th in 14:01) rounded out the top 5 for Eaglebrook - scoring 12 points total. Andrew P. '22 (15:00) and Tim C. '25 (16:20) were soon behind them, helping secure the win for the XC Junior Varsity team. Gus M. '22 was the top finisher for the Eaglebrook varsity squad, in third with a time of 20:13. Henry T. '22 (6th in 20:55), Zavi S. '22 (7th in 21:15), Masashi Y. '23 (9th in 21:46) and Eli S. '22 (11th in 23:13) rounded out the top 5 finishers for Eaglebrook. Ciaran B. '22 (24:14), Darren L. '22 (24:24), Nielsen K. '22 (24:37), Aaron V. '23 (24:57), and Messiah B. '22 (25:04) were close behind, working together as teammates to finish strong. Overall, it was a great day for the Cross Country team, who enjoyed a challenging course and an opportunity to run fast. We thank Cardigan for hosting us and we are looking forward to our race against the Bement School at Country Fair this upcoming weekend.
