Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The sun was intermittent on a crisp fall day in New England, but it was a perfect afternoon for soccer. The Eaglebrook JV2 soccer team picked up right where they left off, following up an 8-0 win at Mahar, by scoring in the first 15 seconds of the game Friday versus the Hillside School. The energy that the Eagles brought to Upper Uppvall was contagious and the game was quickly 4-0 at the half. The game ended 6-0 with the goals distributed among five players, the first of the season for three members of our team.
After a slow 0-1-1 start to the season, Eaglebrook has outscored their opponents a combined 21-0 over the past three games. Their ball movement has improved, and even the referee commented on our well-designed runs to space during half-time. The JV2 squad has a relatively relaxed week next week with only two games on Tuesday and Saturday, but the latter will be in Canaan, NH against their rivals the Cardigan Mountain School.
