Name: Colby Runk

College/Grad School: Elmira College

What are your roles at Eaglebrook? Spanish Teacher, Dorm Parent, and Coach.

Proudest Achievement? At Eaglebrook — having students reach out to me after graduation and thank me for what I contributed to their life at Eaglebrook and in my life — developing my sense of self.

Last book you read? The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss.

Movie you would recommend? Stonehearst Asylum directed by Brad Anderson.

Favorite Food? My mom's chicken parmesan.

My soundtrack is? Upside Down by Jack Johnson.

Best Advice Ever Received? “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...”  -Dr. Seus but read aloud by my dad.

Why Eaglebrook? I played lacrosse with AJ Bourdon, Eaglebrook History Teacher, in college and he reached out to me and encouraged me to come work during the Summer Semester the year before my senior year. I loved the lifestyle, the people, and the atmosphere; so when AJ called again in April of my senior year to tell me there was an opening, I jumped on the opportunity.

What are your interests/hobbies? Playing guitar, playing sports, working out, hiking, video and board games.

What animal do you identify with most? A narwhal because there's just something that makes me different than other whales.

One word that describes me? Dedicated.
