New Faces at Eaglebrook

Each year, Eaglebrook welcomes new faculty members who bring a new perspective and new energy to the Hill. This year, we welcome nine new faculty members. 

Tory Buck 
Tory Buck has been Eaglebrook’s Athletics Equipment Manager since 2016, but will now be joining the faculty, teaching Third Form history and science. Additionally, Mr. Buck will continue coaching baseball, a position he has held since his arrival to Eaglebrook in 2016. Mr. Buck will be living and advising in Halsted House. Mr. Buck received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Bridgewater State University where he also was a member of the DIII collegiate baseball team. 

Grady Congleton 
Grady Congleton, who graduated from Eaglebrook in 2006, comes to us from Kents Hill School in Kents Hill, ME where he served as the school’s athletic trainer, and anatomy and physiology teacher since 2016. Prior to Kents Hill, Mr. Congleton served in positions at Ross School, Northfield Mount Hermon, and Smith College. Mr. Congleton has a Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Studies degree from Smith College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from the University of Vermont. Mr. Congleton joins his brother Charlie on the Hill who teaches mathematics. Mr. Congleton will teach Science and join the Athletic Training office. Mr. Congleton will reside in Taylor House with his wife Kathryn and their son. 

Kathryn Congleton 
Kathryn Congleton will join her husband in Taylor House and will be teaching Fifth and Sixth Form English. For the past four years, Mrs. Congleton served in multiple roles at Kents Hill School in Kents Hill, ME where her titles included Director of Global Programming, Director of International Student Support, English Language Support Department Chair, Musical Theater Director, and Dorm Head. Before Kents Hill, Mrs. Congleton held positions at The MacDuffie School, The Ross School, and the Mercy Learning Center. Mrs. Congleton has a Bachelor of Arts, English Language, Literature, and minored in theater from Pace University. She is currently working on a Master’s of Science degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Maine, Farmington. 

Shelley Dresser 
Shelley Dresser is back on the Hill and will be joining the Science Department and teaching biology. Ms. Dresser taught mathematics at Eaglebrook from 2007 until 2016. After leaving Eaglebrook, Ms. Dresser and her husband, David Gagnon, who is also joining the Eaglebrook community, moved to Nantucket, MA where she was the Associate Director of Development and Special Projects at the Maria Mitchell Association. Additionally, she was the Interim Director of Natural Science and Engagement at the Maria Mitchell Association. Ms. Dresser has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Queens College of CUNY, a Master of Forest Science from the Yale School of the Environment, and a Master of Education degree from Smith College. Her daughter Heather is the School’s counselor. Shelley and David will commute to campus from their home in Brattleboro, VT. 

David Gagnon 
David Gagnon, who has been hired as Eaglebrook’s Director of Human Resources, is no stranger to Eaglebrook, as his wife who will also be re-joining the community was a member of the Eaglebrook faculty from 2007 until 2016. For the past five years, Mr. Gagnon served as the Executive Director at the Maria Mitchell Association in Nantucket, MA. Before moving to Nantucket, Mr. Gagnon was the Chief Operating Officer at the Organic Trade Association from 2006 until 2015. Mr. Gagnon has held board positions at numerous organizations including the Canada Organic Trade Association in Sackville, NB, Organic Political Action Committee in Brattleboro, VT, and the Academy at Charlemont in Charlemont, MA. Mr. Gagnon served as the Finance Chair and Development and Long-Term Planning subcommittee member. Mr. Gagnon received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from UMass Amherst and a Master of Forestry and Environmental Studies from Yale University. 

Baker Mallory 
Baker Mallory, the father of Gus ’22, Rose ’24, and Brad ’24 will be moving to the Hill from Wilton, CT. Mr. Mallory will be joining the Mathematics Department. Baker was the co-owner, landscape designer, construction manager, and horticulturist at Clover Designs in Wilton, CT since 2004. Baker has held positions at Cider Mill Elementary School Graduate School of Design and Yale University. A graduate of Deerfield Academy, Mr. Mallory went on to Yale University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture. Following Yale, Mr. Mallory received a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University. Mr. Mallory, his wife Jody, and three kids will be living in Mayer House. 

Chad Parent 
Chad Parent is joining Eaglebrook as Eaglebrook’s new Athletics Equipment Manager. Mr. Parent will be living and advising in Eagles Nest. Mr. Parent is a recent graduate of Western New England University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Additionally, Mr. Parent is currently working on his Master’s of Business Administration degree in Sports Management from Western New England University. Since 2018, Mr. Parent has been a golf facilities associate at the Western Massachusetts Family Golf Center in Hadley, MA. Mr. Parent is an avid soccer player, having been a member of the men’s soccer team at Western New England University. 

Cam Taylor
Cam Taylor ’16 is back at Eaglebrook this year after serving as an intern last year. Mr. Taylor will serve as one of the School’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinators. Mr. Taylor graduated from Eaglebrook in 2016 and Deerfield Academy in 2019.  He is currently studying kinesiology at UMass Amherst. Despite his passion for sports medicine, he finds it important to give back to his communities, especially with ideas focused on improvement, enhancement, and growth. 

Reid Temple 
Reid Temple comes to Eaglebrook from “In A Flash” photo lab where he served as a photo finisher and assistant to the manager. Mr. Temple graduated from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA with a degree in photography in 2019. Mr. Temple will live and advise in Taylor House and serve as a coach.
