Why would you send a sixth-grade boy to boarding school? Shouldn't a ninth-grade student start high school? What is a junior boarding school? Make an appointment to visit us today and learn why Eaglebrook, a boarding and day school for boys in middle school, might be the right place for your son.
Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. Learn about the programs we offer at Eaglebrook, from athletics to arts.
At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
To finish the season, the undefeated Eaglebrook went on a road trip that involved, an overnight stay in Concord NH. The culmination of quite an outstanding season was to be played on the McLane courts at St. Paul's. Everyone know this was going to be a tough game, as they were 4-3 victors over rivals Fessenden just a few days before. However, the Eagles were to shake off the rust from their match on Friday and really lay everything on the line at St. Paul's. The Eagles ended up 5-2 victors, vanquishing any doubts that this was a season to truly remember. Evan K., strapped to the nines and carrying a very painful leg injury was able to put that to the back of his mind and power to a fine win. Ethan W., would be involved in the game of his life that flowed back and forth like the tides of the ocean, before ending up 3-2 victor in an absolute squash epic. Jaden C. was able to hold off a much larger opponent and recorded yet another impressive win. JP L. who has grown and matured as a player was able to fight off his own inner demons and record an outstanding victory before Emerson W. took to the courts and showed everyone why he is the school no. 1 by winning with style, panache and grace.
To look back on a season that saw the team go 12-1, is tough to do, so I will leave that to the individual memories of each concerned, but what I will do is thank our five graduating players for their contributions to the Eaglebrook squash program and to thank their stellar efforts for a wonderful, wonderful season. I also would like to thank JP, Jesus and Andrew, who will be returning and providing the backbone for what will hopefully be another great season next year.
I would also like to thank my co-coaches Michaelann and TR, for their time, energy, skill and dedication to this team this season. We, as a team and me as a coach, could not have done any of this without you both - Thank you!
Enjoy the off-season. Let's do this again next year.
