Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The JV 2 basketball team played Turners Falls Middle School on Wednesday afternoon. We had a lengthy warmup and this might have made the Eaglebrook boys too relaxed because Turners Falls jumped out to a 10-0 lead. We started to get things going when Daniel C. got hot from the perimeter. He put down some shots for us, including some threes by keeping his toes just outside the three-point line. Chris M. hit a three later in the game. A personnel change was made after the half when we put our fastest and most tenacious defenders on their fastest and most accurate offensive players. Peter and Jeffrey M. ran all over with number 11 and number 2. McLane D. handled the ball well and harassed the opponents as did Nathaniel R. Merideth B. tied up opponents in our zone. McLane was good at finding passing lanes underneath in the fourth quarter. We lost by three baskets, but we took comfort in realizing that we are discovering more about ourselves and the ability to compete.
