JV 1 Basketball v. Deerfield

On Saturday, January 11, the JV 1 Basketball team went up against big, strong, and fast players from Deerfield Academy. Although they had a bit of a slow start, Eaglebrook did not stop fighting, managing to keep Deerfield to a small lead. However, by halfway through the first half, Deerfield was able to rack up a ten-point lead. This led Eaglebrook to call a timeout and address the team. After the timeout, it seemed as though Eaglebrook hit a second wind and began to show what they're truly made of. Still down at the half, Eaglebrook wasn't done competing and was ready to finish the game on a positive note. Entering the second half, Eaglebrook pushed themselves to the limit, slowly chipping away at Deerfield's lead. Finally, with two minutes left in the game, Eaglebrook was able to earn their first lead of the game, going up by two. From there, they did not turn back and understood that if they wanted to keep their lead, then they would have to dig deep, overcome fatigue, and work together as a true team. Eaglebrook did just that. They put even more pressure on Deerfield, capitalized on several key free throws, and we able to solidify their lead with a two-point win to end the game. It was an outstanding game and amazing to watch how hard these athletes were willing to push themselves. They proved that they will stop at nothing to find success and should all be very proud of this win. After resting up this weekend, they look to take on Frontier on Tuesday and continue their win streak.
