Varsity Lacrosse v. Westminster

On a wet Saturday afternoon, the team welcomed the Martlets from Westminster School. Early on, the Martlets took advantage of the Eagles early miscues and pulled out to a comfortable lead. Despite generating some nice looks in transition and off of some opportune dodges, Westminster’s goalie denied many of the boys' chances to cut the deficit. Although the score didn’t reflect the Eagles level of play, the visitors remained in the driver's seat on the scoreboard 6-0. However, once the Eagles started to convert their chances, the momentum scale began to tip in favor of the home team. Timely cuts and improved defensive footwork allowed the boys to show some nice firepower in the remaining frames. As a result, the scoring was more indicative of their level of play, as the Eagles put up 4 goals to the visitors 5 goals in the second half. The final score stood 11-4, but the boys should some good fight down the stretch against their mature opponents. The boys will gear up for the final week of the season as they host Rectory and Cardigan Mountain.
