Why would you send a sixth-grade boy to boarding school? Shouldn't a ninth-grade student start high school? What is a junior boarding school? Make an appointment to visit us today and learn why Eaglebrook, a boarding and day school for boys in middle school, might be the right place for your son.
Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. Learn about the programs we offer at Eaglebrook, from athletics to arts.
At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The Eaglebrook Mathematics team traveled to Wilbraham and Monson Academy on March 29th to participate in a mathematics competition for middle school students. Our boys competed in the individual rounds and then we were able to field three teams for the group competition. The Wilbraham Munson Math Club hosted and designed the competition; the leaders of the club are headed to Stanford University and Columbia University in the fall.
Eaglebrook students competed with over 30 students and 6 other teams from around the Springfield, Massachusetts area. Marco Ko ’19 and Andy Choi ’19 tied for first place overall, while Dylan Kim ’20 came in second place. Our Eaglebrook team of Junho Moon ’19, Daniel Zhang ’20, and Marco Ko earned the top spot in the team competition. The Eaglebrook students demonstrated not only their prowess in mathematics but also outstanding citizenship and sportsmanship. We were treated to a lovely luncheon and an impressive tour of the Wilbraham campus after the competition. The Eaglebrook coaches were also involved in the competition. Mr. Townsend and Mr. Elias participated in a professional development opportunity led by 50-year veteran teacher, Dave Daniels, who has taught at the secondary and university levels. They were exposed to some problem based learning activities in the field of statistics and scientific notation that they will bring back to the Eaglebrook classrooms.
We were honored to be invited to this well-run program and proud of the way our boys represented Eaglebrook.
