Wrestling v. Hillside

The Eagles today had their first match at home since the beginning of the season, back in December. They hosted the Hillside School, a team that placed 2nd last year in the Junior New England Tournament. The meet was competitive and fierce, but true sportsmanship rang throughout the match. Hillside had much more depth and skill than the Eagles did and out of the total twenty-two matches, they were able to win sixteen of them. This statistic can be deceiving though because the Eagles only gave up six pins on the day. This shows their mental and physical toughness, one of the teams goals for the season.

When it was all said and done, the meet saw thirteen matches go the distance, quite a feat for both teams. Hillside had five wrestlers that place in the top three places in last year's Junior New England Tournament and they will look to push Belmont Hill for the best team overall again this year.

The Eaglebrook Wrestling team will regroup over the next two days and prepare to face Keene Middle School again during Winter Carnival, this Friday. It should be another competitive match for the Eagles. With only twenty-five days left in the season, the Eagles are preparing for Fessenden and to end the year wrestling their best. Go Eagles!
