Wrestling v. Loomis Chaffee

After a long and difficult week for the Eaglebrook School, community and wrestling team, the Eagles hit the road and travelled to the Loomis Chaffee School for a junior varsity wrestling jamboree-style match. There were six schools in attendance for this meet, Loomis, Forman, Hall, Avon, Cardigan, and Eaglebrook. In the end the Eagles had over twenty-three matches and one exhibition match. The Eagles were able to win over thirteen matches and walked away with victories over Avon, Forman and Cardigan. The Eagles held their own and in many cases, were able to win against older and more experienced wrestlers.

This match helped the Eagles get back on the mat after a physically and emotionally tough week. The theme for the team this year has been toughness and family. Both were clearly evident throughout the week and this Saturday. These brothers came together and forged ahead every single day and will continue to do so throughout this winter and school year.

With less than a month in the Eagles season remaining, they will be visited by the Hillside School this Tuesday, 1/30, and will have to be ready to face against a team that took second place in the Junior New England Wrestling Tournament at the Fessenden School last year. Then, this Friday, Keene Middle School and Frontier will arrive to the Hill for our Winter Carnival match. It will be an exciting week for the Eagles to have their first home match since December and a chance to show off their skills to friends and family. Go Eagles!
