Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
After returning from the relaxing winter break and the Toronto Marlboro’s Holiday Classic, the Eaglebrook School Varsity Hockey team faced off against the Berkshire Bears on January 9. The players were exited to get back on the ice at home for the first time in a while. Berkshire came up with two early goals in the first period to gain some momentum in the game to make the score 2-0. Eaglebrook started to feel the heat but kept the game close through half way through the second period when Berkshire slipped 2 more by Eaglebrook to then raise the score to 4-0. Then with a few nice scoring chances, Eaglebrook scored its first goal at 4:09 and their second goal at 2:05 in the second. Berkshire then managed to get a goal with only 31.7 seconds left. Shortly after, at 16:53 in the third period, Berkshire’s final goal was scored to make it 6-2. Though there were many hard fought battles, Eaglebrook couldn’t seem to score another one and the game would end with a 6-2 final.
