Under warm and sunny skies and perfect snow conditions on Amy’s Run, the Eaglebrook Ski Team played host to Cardigan, Suffield, and Bement ski teams in a Two-Run Team GS race. All three teams had talented racers, which included Eaglebrook alumni and Suffield racer Mark Paton (85.82, 3rd overall). Again showing his All-New Englad talent, Ryan Mooney had combined times of 79.18 and secured first place over Suffield’s Gavaria with a fine effort of 83.82. CK Kim’s time of 85.81 put him in fourth and Yuji Develle came in fifth with an 86.17. Ben Turner came in ninth place with a time of 88.05, and Third Former Zack Leeds came in 11th with a 90.90. These skiers completed Eaglebrook’s team scoring of 30 points to take first place overall, followed by Suffield Academy with 52 points total, Cardigan Mountain with 58 points, and Bement with 104 points. Eaglebrook’s B team took fifth place, and Suffield’s B team took sixth. Generous day parent help from Mrs. Beth Foley, Mrs. Laura Johnson, and Jenn and Frank Mooney helped make our first home race run very well.
Team racing resumes with MISL racing at Berkshire East this coming Wednesday at 3:15 and USSAJ3/4/5 racing Sunday at Bosquet Ski Area.
