Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. Learn about the programs we offer at Eaglebrook, from athletics to arts.
At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
Tuesday night the Eagles hosted the Pope Francis Varsity B team in the first of two games this season. The game had great energy from the opening puck drop and saw Pope score on their first shot of the game. Although the Eagles would spend much of the first period in their own zone that would be the only goal for Pope for the remainder of the game as both Eagles goalies stood tall in the net. After a few adjustments, the Eagles took control of the game using their speed and physical play to create great opportunities, however despite their efforts they could not find an answer for the strong goaltending performance from Pope's goalie through two periods. The Eagles would find the back of the net at the start of the third on a great powerplay shot from the point. With the score knotted up 1-1, the Eagles seemed to have the momentum however bouncing pucks and goalposts denied them the chance for a winner in regulation. The teams would play a 3v3 overtime for the second consecutive year. As overtime began the Eagles won possession and set up for a great rush however a great angle and stick check from a Pope forward created a turnover that resulted in a grade-A chance that the Eagles goalie turned aside. After another rush and turnover in Pope's end, the Eagles were on the defensive for the last time as they corralled the puck and watched as one Eagle skated through two Pope defenders and tuck the puck under the top right crossbar! The Eagles will turn their focus to the always competitive and fun Belmont Hill Tournament this weekend and look to continue their strong play of late.
