A junior boarding and day school for boys in grades six, seven, eight, and nine

Varsity Lacrosse v. Hillside

The Eagles traveled to Hillside on Friday, May 4for the team’s second meeting of the season. In the previous meeting, a week ago, the Eagles played a sloppy game, but eventually pulled out an 8-5 victory. This time around, the boys knew they needed to put together a better collective effort to find success. Despite having a limited warm up, the Eagles came out of the gates flying, exploding for six consecutive goals to cap off the first quarter. Although the second quarter’s offensive attack slowed a bit, the defensive effort remained strong. Heading into halftime, the Eagles still maintained control, but knew they were capable of much more. To open up the third quarter, the game started to slip away from Eaglebrook due to undisciplined play. However, despite these early setbacks, the boys regrouped and pushed the tempo with transition, which gave them more of a cushion on the scoreboard. The defense and goalie play was exceptional throughout the contest, as they limited the opposition from getting high percentage looks and penetrating the interior. It was a great team win, as the boys closed out the game with a convincing 12-5 victory.
