Eaglebrook Track and Field Jamboree Recap

On Saturday, Eaglebrook successfully hosted its first annual Track Jamboree meet with four other local middle school teams. The Eaglebrook track team faced off against Rectory, Amherst Regional Middle School, Brattleboro Area Middle School, and Bement. Both boys and girls competed in the high jump, long jump, discus, and shot put, as well as the 100m, 100m hurdles, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m, and the 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay, and the new 4x200m relay. It was a perfect day for a track meet with the sun shining. During all of the events, Eaglebrook competed fiercely. In the high jump, Eaglebrook athletes swept the top three places with our highest jumper, Sebastian de Casteja, jumping a personal record of 5 feet. Mark To took first in the discus with a distance of 86'4" and Sean Shim took second in the shot put with 27'7". In the long jump, Marco Ko jumped his farthest yet with a distance of 14 feet, 2 inches, taking third place. Luke Hrinda earned second in the 200m with a very tight race at 26.49 and Rohan Edwards came back from behind to win the 400m race at 57.91. In the 800m, Owen Zinn-Keane ran an incredible race to win with a 2:21.53 and Hudson McGuinness also ran his fastest in the 1600m run with a 4:51.25. Sebastian de Casteja won the 100m hurdles in 17.84 with Peak Viprakasit right behind him in third at 20.02. It was a meet full of personal records and incredibly hard running, jumping, and throwing. All of our athletes should be incredibly proud of themselves and their hard work and improvements throughout the season. At the end of the meet, it was announced that Eaglebrook won the boys' meet with Amherst coming in second. The girls' meet was won by Bement with Amherst coming in second. All of the teams should be proud of their hard work and fierce competing. Thank you to all for joining us and thank you to our families and fans for cheering us on Saturday and throughout the season. We look forward to another great Jamboree and season next spring!
