Varsity Lacrosse v. Pomfret

Varsity Lacrosse traveled to Connecticut on Saturday to take on a strong Pomfret squad. Much like last weekends game, the long bus ride took its toll and we struggled off the bus to find our rhythm on offense. However, as we warmed up we put together some great defensive stops and solid goaltending to push the clear and keep the ball in the offensive end. Up one in the third period, Eaglebrook found the weaknesses in the Pomfret D and capitalized off some nice off-ball motion, strong dodging, and solid ball movement that led to goals and much-needed energy on the bench. Like last weekend, the team took advantage of man-up opportunities and put together a four goalscoring run that allowed us to control the game for the fourth quarter. A late goal by Pomfret was too little too late, and the "Birds" left the Nutmeg state with a hard-earned and gritty 9-5 victory, including a well-deserved pizza dinner.
