Development Tennis v. Cardigan Mountain School

Development Tennis travelled to Canaan, NH on Saturday afternoon to take on the Cardigan Mountain School in an eight-match, all-doubles affair. Although the final score of 3-5 did not go in favor of the Brookies, the visitors had plenty to cheer about with back-to-back matches that went to tiebreakers before a decision was reached.

Kei Kiribuchi and Toby Atwill overcame a slow start that saw them trailed the Cougars 1-4 in their first match by knotting things up at 6-all before dropping two games in a row to settle with a 6-8 loss.  But they would return the favor in their second match by outgunning their opponents in an 8-4 final to salvage a 1-1 split on the day.

Aiden Choi and William Zhang also lost their first match in a 6-8 decision against a tough duo from Cardigan before cruising to an 8-2 victory in round 2 of the day to provide the Brookies a much needed victory.

Also winning their match on the day were Dilan Lee and Patrick Gao who topped their foes by a close 8-6 margin on the day.

The Brookies will host WIlbraham and Monson on their next match at home on Wednesday, May 1st.
