A junior boarding and day school for boys in grades six, seven, eight, and nine

Varsity Tennis v. MacDuffie

Result: Win 7-0
On a blustery afternoon the day before a large rainstorm, Eaglebrook Varsity Tennis headed 45 minutes south to MacDuffie school. Given the conditions, the players immediately hit the courts without warm-up.

Fortunately our hard work this week paid off, and we won the first four singles matches with comfortable leads. Using the wind to their advantage, each player hit powerful groundstrokes into the gales, and then delicate drop shots when the wind was at their backs. The same can be said for the new doubles pairings, where each team was able to fend off their opponents with relative ease. When all was said and done, EBS had won 7-0.

The afternoon was topped off with some excellent Bub's BBQ in Sunderland, with players discovering their eyes were far bigger than their stomachs. Wish us luck this Monday for our first match against archrival Cardigan at 3:15pm on our home courts!
