JV Lacrosse v. Hillside

The Eagles flew to their first away game of the season. They ventured towards Boston to the Hillside School where their goals were simple for the day, outwork their opponent, win every groundball situation and play better team lacrosse. When driving an hour and a half to face an opponent, then to warm-up in a matter of ten minutes, can always be challenging to a team. This team, however, was focused right as they stepped off the bus and they keep their concentration throughout the entire game.

Right from the blow of the whistle, the Eagles were able to score their first goal in a matter of seconds. They dominated faceoffs throughout the game and were able to remove their best player from the game by playing shutdown defense. On the offensive side of the ball, the Eagles were able to create fastbreak situations that often lead to powerful dodges and wide open shots. The defense was solid from start to finish by landing powerful check on their opponent hands and taking away Hillside’s dump clear. Finally, the entire Eagles team transformed into the Hillside mascot, the bulldog. They fought and scraped for every chance to pick up a groundball and advance it to an open teammate. They played with the goal to dominate and they were successful in doing so. In the end, the Eagles walked off the field knowing they accomplished their goals and brought home their first win of the season.
