Swimming at Williston Northampton
Varsity Swimming traveled to the Williston Northampton School for the final meet of the season on Saturday. This was the first year of the Babcock Invitational event. In past years, the team was very successful swimming at Bud Erich Invitational at the Hopkins School in New Haven. Because that meet grew too large, three new meets were created, the Babcock being one of them.
The Eaglebrook team continued the tradition of excellent performances at their last meet, finishing in third place behind the Williston and NMH varsity teams. The team was lead with exceptional swims by the Sixth Formers, Alex Ahmed, Thomas Bowers, Kevin Chang, and Hudson McGuinness. Thomas and Kevin gained the podium with season-best swims in the 500 Freestyle and the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke respectively. Every swimmer on the team swam a personal best time. Complete results can be seen on the NEPSSA website. After the meet, the boys seemed a bit deflated after experiencing such an exciting and successful last meet, realizing that the season had ended. Many of the boys expressed their desire to work over the summer to improve their swimming skills. Throughout the year, coaches Butler, Karis and Pielock have been very impressed with the hard work the team put in every day during the long winter trimester. Their daily effort was rewarded on Saturday.
