Varsity Basketball v. Deerfield

This afternoon the Eagles hosted Deerfield Academy's JV basketball team.  Two weeks ago the teams squared off down the hill and the Brookies were able to secure a comfortable victory.  Looking for a little payback, the Green Wave started the game off quickly and really pushed the pace.  Eaglebrook struggled to find a rhythm during the first half but managed to keep things close.  DA was able to open a seven-point lead with about two minutes to play in the half, but the Brookies closed with a nine-point run and entered the half up 33-31.  During the second half, Eaglebrook pushed their lead to 6 points after back to back three-pointers by Anthony Seoage '21, but Deerfield kept pace throughout the half.  With just over a minute left in the game, Deerfield managed to tie the score at 67-67, but the Brookies finished strong by shooting 10-10 from the free throw line during the closing stretch and walking away with a 4 point victory, 73-69.
Having won seven of their last eight games, the Brookies are excited about the season finale at Cardigan on Saturday.
