Varsity Basketball v. Suffield
Eaglebrook made the long drive to Suffield Academy to face the Tigers JV team. The game started slowly with the Brookies struggling to find a rhythm on the offensive end. Suffield opened up leads of seven nine points at different periods of the first half, but the Eagles continued to fight back and actually held a two-point lead at halftime. During the second half Eaglebrook controlled the pace for the majority of the time, opening up a 8 point lead with just over two minutes to play. The Tigers pressure allowed them to get back into the game, and they managed to take a five-point lead with just over 30 seconds to play. The Brookies scored quickly and managed to get a stop on the defensive end with 3 seconds to go. Mark To hit the game-tying three-pointer as time expired, forcing overtime. The Tigers again opened a lead in OT, but Eaglebrook hung tough. The Brookies scores the final four points of the period, with Marcelo Demerski making two free throws to force a second overtime period. In the second overtime, Suffield continues to control the pace, quickly opening up a six-point lead. The Eagles again got stops when the needed them, as well as timely baskets, and managed to force a third overtime. In the third overtime, Eaglebrook took an early lead, but the Tigers bounced back and looked to have won the game with just over 3 seconds to play. A delay of game penalty was called in Suffield, and Demerski knocked down both free throws to force a fourth overtime period. Despite tired legs, the Brookies battled on and opened up a six-point lead in the first minute of play. Suffield continued to force the ball inside and managed to cut the lead to two points. Fortunately the Brookies settled down on the defensive end and shot extremely well from the free throw line, closing out the game for a 113-105 quadruple overtime victory.
