Eaglebrook Wrestling Tournament
Today, the annual Eaglebrook Wrestling Tournament occurred on the hill and it brought ten different schools across New England and nearly ninety wrestlers for a full day of competitions. This year Eaglebrook used FloArena to place the entire tournament online (https://arena.flowrestling.org/event/9fc4b478-2106-15da-1dc5-c9e0b19fa4e6). Wrestling began at 10:30 a.m. and with this new system, the tournament had one hundred thirty matches and ended at 2:00 p.m. It was evident that the system made the tournament more efficient and streamlined the whole process.
The Eaglebrook wrestling team really came together not only on the mat today but also off of it. The whole team helped put together this event, they moved all of the mats from the wrestling room into the gym, set-up the tables and chairs, cleaned and taped the mats, ran the tables during the event and then cleaned it all up after a hard day of emotional highs and lows and stiff competition.
Eaglebrook had twelve wrestlers in the competition and eight walked away with hardware. The team had two 1st, three 2nd, one 3rd, and two 4th place winners. Many of these teams we will see again in two weeks at the Junior New England Tournament, our end of year tournament, at the Fessenden School. The team doesn’t have any more events until then so they will be working to maintain their health, while also perfecting moves we have been working on all season long. This team continues to impress and it will be exciting to see what they will accomplish at the end. The finish line is in sight and now it’s time to make the final push to finish strong.
