Wrestling v. Keene and Frontier
Winter Carnival weekend is upon us and the Eagles had a match this Friday afternoon against Keene Middle School and Frontier Regional School. The Eagles saw Keene earlier this season in what was a very competitive meet and they have not seen Frontier in over two years. The afternoon was jammed-packed with over twenty-eight matches in total, and the Eagles wrestling in twenty of them.
In the Eagles match against Keene, it was another close one again that came down to who fought to pin their opponent and those who would not allow themselves get pinned. In the end, the Eagles won six of the fourteen matches total, but all were by pins. Keene won the majority of the matches, however, they were only able to earn two pins. The Eagles fought hard and eeked out the victory against Keene again. A full team effort!
Frontier was a different story for the Eagles. Without knowing much about them the Eagles were walking blind into this match but were eager to wrestle them. In the six matches they wrestled, the Eagles were able to win all of them, five by pin.
It was a wonderful day for the Eagles to showcase their abilities to their family and friends and in the end, they were well rewarded with two victories. Up next, the Eagles will head to Hillside next Wednesday in what will make for another tough meet, and who served the Eagles their only loss on the season. Then, next Saturday, the Eagles will host the Eaglebrook Tournament in what will be the last wrestling event at Eaglebrook this season.
