Wrestling v. Northfield Mount Herman
Our neighbors to the north, Northfield Mount Herman, came to the Hill to face off against the Eagles in what would be a great match for both teams. Earlier in the season, the Eagles had gone up to NMH for a joint-practice which certainly helped the team learn how to properly prepare and practice for matches.
The Eagles have a close relationship with NMH and today’s meet was the NMH junior varsity’s first match of the season. It was a chance for their wrestlers to experience a real match and for the Eagles, a chance to continue to grow, develop and learn. The meet consisted of twenty matches, many of which were well-fought bouts. Of those matches, the Eagles were able to win fifteen of them, thirteen by pin!
The Eagles have been working hard since their last meet against Hillside and have picked up the intensity of practices since then. They are working to get healthy and continue to increase there endurance over the next week so that they can begin to make their last push to the end of the season. The team will have only one more meet, during Winter Carnival, and they do not have another match until next Friday, 1/25. On that day they will be traveling to The Fay School. This weekend the 6th and 7th graders will be heading to Fay for their annual wrestling tournament (only for 5th-7th graders).
